Who's gonna win?

Okay, I've officially posted my picks for the World Cup soccer tournament - let's hear it for Germany going all the way!! There are a ton of international people in my building who know way more about soccer than I do, and so far I haven't recieved any strange looks for my choice. I do, however, find it humorous that the German guy downstairs chose against his own country and went with Italy. Sorry to all the USA fans (not that I'm not one of them) it's just that from what the internationals tell me we aren't worth a hill'a beans!:(

As for other news, summer definitely hit Ohio this past weekend! Temps got up in the 90s, and while some of my friends living in the southern states may laugh at that number I still believe that's damn hot!! I am so happy that I finally have air conditioning in my car which makes travel sooooo much more comfortable than in the past. For the first time in my driving history I can actually sit in my car during hot weather without requiring a towel on the seat! Hooray for air conditioning:)

My first blog...

Well, here it is people - my first blog. It's funny how I'm almost nervous about this! I'm sitting here in the lab waiting for an experiment to wrap up so I can go enjoy the holiday. What better way to make the time pass then to write aimless thoughts on a computer for all to see?:)

In case anyone actually reads this and wonders "why the blog?" - well, it's not so much because I think my life is so interesting that it necessitates writing to the masses (or even that people are dying to hear what I have to say). Mostly it's my need for something new:) So I hope you enjoy my new-found thing to do!

And so it comes time for me to attend to my experiments - todays experiments include staining tissue samples with antibodies that glow a pretty shade of green under fluorescent light (that is, provided it works!)
