I was assigned the task of writing my thoughts verbatum in a journal for my counselor. I think I like the idea of this task simply because I say so many off-the-wall things to myself - and now I'll get to see them in print:) The hard part about this is that often times I don't actually form phrases or sentences in my head, it's more like a thought that presents itself as a feeling. Getting that in print will prove to be more difficult. I also find it hard to imagine writing immediately as I think the funny, zany, or profound thoughts simply because I do most of my thinking in the car on my way home... Now the hard part is remembering it all so when I get home I can get it down. I tried it yesterday and failed - of course the thought was at the beginning of the drive, so there was no chance of me remembering (especially verbatum) the thought 30 minutes later. Kinda wish I could've though because I remember myself laughing, just don't remember what it was about.
I've spent the last week or so debating the financial "plunge" into buying an Mp3 player. (Sad how $80 is a financial plunge for me!) It'd be super nice to have something to listen to when I'm in the mouse room for long periods of time... Or when I'm in the tissue culture hood. Both places are music-less and I tend to spend a lot of time both places. Oh, and at the histology facility too! So I was chatting to Tim about it and he said that his wife has an old one laying around doing nothing and I could have it if I wanted! He gave it to me yesterday, and I think it only holds about 50-80 songs but it's better than nothing (and better than spending $80 I don't have). The thing that sucks now is that I screwed up when I tried installing the software and now my computer doesn't recognize it:-( Hopefully Tim can help me fix the problemo, otherwise I might be spending a lot of money soon.
